The transformation of a meeting room in the Spanish Embassyin Seoul into a new conference and multipurpose room is a design opportunity to brighten the current mood of the room. Since the space doesn’t have any natural light access, all finishing materials have bright colors maximizing the use of artificial lighting. It is proposed a number of unconventional materials for a diplomatic venue such as neon lights, absence of finishing ceilings, polycarbonate walls, and vinyl flooring.
In the entrance of the room, a large map of Spain isdisplayed expanding its territory between the floor and the walls of the room welcoming visitors in a rather unusual way.
