The project presents exciting challenges, particularly the implementation of prefabrication and timber construction to minimize the building’s embodied CO2. In addition, the economic viability of the project relies on strategies that minimize excavation. The site’s steep topography led us to propose a building that gently sits above the terrain, allowing natural rainwater runoff to flow beneath the structure.
